Well, we have a meetup already, and it runs once a month in Norfolk. We are extending that into other cities in particular, the peninsula of Virginia, which is right across the water from us, and then also we’re taking it down to Orlando as part of our expansion.
Launching the Marketers Anonymous Podcast
We wanted to add a podcast. Now, this has been in the making for quite some time. I’ve really kicked around this idea for months, and I haven’t done it up until now because frankly, I wasn’t exactly sure of what the content was going to be.
The first thing that I thought about doing was a tips-and-tricks kind of a podcast. The problem with that is many.
One, there’s already quite a few out there. I listened to several every single day on my Amazon flash briefing and I also listened to podcasts and it’s done. It’s been done, and those podcasts, are starting to run out of things to talk about. There’s just so many tips and tricks that you can talk about in this space.
What is the Podcast About?
So I really kinda ruled that out because I want to make sure that this podcast lasts and with tips and tricks, it’s going to get very redundant and it’s going to get very low level and I don’t think you care about that.
Now, what I do think you care about is how to build your business, how to get more leads, and what I want to share with you is how we’re actually building this business here.
Meet the Host – Erik Olson of Array Digital
If you don’t know who I am, I’m the CEO of Array Digital. We are a digital marketing agency out of Chesapeake, Virginia. Right now we’re at about $1 million per year and I have a pretty big audacious goal and we’re going to get to $100 million in revenue by 2030. I’m recording this in November of 2018 so I’ve got about 11 years to pull this off. How am I going to do it?
Well, you know what, I’m not exactly sure. I have a plan for where we’re going to be in 11 years and I have a vision for the next year. Beyond that, I’ve got 10 years of uncertainty.
Accomplishing 100x Growth in 10 Years
The point of this is to bring you along for this journey. Now, the reason I want to do that is because I look at people now that I find successful and I think to myself, how do they do it? What were the tricks to their success? And sometimes it’s obvious because they’ve written a book or they’ve put it in some sort of content like a podcast or there’s a movie about their story.
But a lot of times it’s just a mystery. They may give you a glimpse here and there, but you really don’t know and you certainly didn’t fall along.
Now again, I’ve got a really big goal. I feel very confident that we can do it. We’ve got 11 years, but there’s a lot of unknowns there. So what are really want is in 2030 someone to look at my agency and say, “Wow. How did they do that?”
This podcast is going to chronicle that day in and day out. Now everything’s not perfect here. We’ve got ups, we’ve got downs, we’ve got opportunities, we’ve got issues.
What to Expect on our Podcast
And I want to share it all with you. So you’re going to come along for the ride and I’m going to every single day tell you what’s going on here. My ups, my downs. I’m going to bring in my team, I’m going to bring in other people in the industry.
I don’t have a set format. Frankly, it’s going to be probably about, you know, maybe half of me, one on one just like I am right now and just kind of telling you what’s on my mind. I may tell you about a tip that I picked up.
I may tell you about a meeting that I went to. I may tell you about a pitch that went horribly wrong. I may bring in one of my team members, or I may actually provide audio of a talk that I did recently. So we’re going to really mix this up.
We’re gonna bring some guests. We’re going to pick their brains and we’re going to find out how they did it too. So it’s not just going to be me. It’s going to be other people and the things that they did – the things that they tried, the things that worked, and the things that didn’t work. And you’re going to learn from us.
Fair Warning – I’m Not a Podcaster!
So I want you to buckle up. It’s going to be an amazing journey. I’m really excited about doing this. This is my first podcast. I am not a podcaster, right?
So when I say, um, when I stutter, when I say the wrong word, you know what? Frankly, get used to it because this is who I am. I’m going to get better with time. I realized that, but this is where we are right now, so I appreciate you being here. Stay tuned. It’s going to be awesome.
